We must seek first the kingdom of God not as a backup plan but as the first and only plan. Many people will seek the things they want and depend on only themselves. This allows them to get overwhelmed and distracted and they miss out on opportunities that God has opened for them. Realize that if you were to seek God first and his kingdom he will naturally and faithfully give you the gifts, desires, and dreams that you are looking for, so you don’t take thought to the material things of this world because you are taken care of. The “how” to seeking the kingdom is not as hard as we believe, it is simply making a choice and putting it at the Top of the list in your heart and in your actions. With this, no one else can choose for you. No one can make your decision for you except you. When you and you only seek his kingdom first you are internally and verbally saying “I will” as in I will choose God and your ways first.
